The most important aspect of designing a commission is determining where and how the ashes will be incorporated into the piece.
Some want the ashes to be displayed prominently on the front of the piece.
Others prefer that they are visible only to themselves, and wish them fused into the back of the piece.
Another consideration is the 'texture' of the ashes in relation to the piece. Sould the ashes be recognizable as a line of ash.......
..........or does the customer prefer that they are scattered subtly throughout the piece?
All of the previous photos are of pieces done on a black back. If a customer is uncertain as to what form they would like the ashes to take, I can fuse the ashes into dichroic with a clear back. This allows the ashes to be visible or hidden, depending on the direction of the light hitting the glass. The following pictures are of the same piece with different angles of light hitting the piece.
